Mission 1: Securing Supplies

 The Mission

In recent days, Dawn has been swarming with reinforcements from the Combined Army and the Human Sphere. It is a mad dash to secure supplies and provisions to establish a strong foothold in the early days of this conflict.

Kornak Gazarot and the 409th Vanguard Division take to the field to intercept human supply caches.

Morat Forces

Morat Superior Warrior-Officer Kornak Gazarot has marshalled a force with the mission in mind, well positioned to secure and protect the supplies while eliminating resistance.

Command Team Gazarot

Kornak, Treitak Thayat, the Dartok, Kaitok, and Suryat make up Command Team Gazarot. They are tasked with overwatching the battlefield and bringing specialist units where they are needed.

Strike Team Raktorak

The Raktorak is joined by two Daturazi to punch a whole in the enemy line's with pure burst and brawn.

Sweep Team Anyat

An elite Sweep Team of Treitak Anyat, a Rindak and Yaogat is on hand to rapidly extract supplies.

The Battlefield

The human supplies have fallen in a densely populated area. A strong overwatch position is available for 2 of the supply boxes, but they are well segmented from one another by human settlements.

A high value target was not able to evacuate in time - a Sister of the Observance remains behind. She will be of interest to the Morat invaders.

Deployment

Under Kornak's seasoned leadership, the Morat forces are able to pick their engagement. They secure the side of the field with superior overwatch, and lay in wait to observe what the humans are prepared to commit to this operation.

The covert forces of the White Banner begin to take the field under cover of smoke. It is a nimble force, led by monks and line troops, with little in the way of heavy armor. It is not until Bixie takes the field from the reserves that it is clear how they intend to punch through.

Seeing this force assemble, Command Team Gazarot counter deploys. Knowing smoke is in play, the visored Suryat hoists his rocket launcher to the highest available point. The humans would have to fight through if they expected to get either of the far supply boxes.

The specialists, Darktok and Treitak Thayat, take safe rear positions in support. The Kaitok takes a corner guard position, while Kornak watches the interior of the deployment zone.

Sweep Team Anyat will be needed to extract boxes during the Morat counter offensive. They take defensive positions in a nearby garage, waiting for their orders. A drone watches the approach.

Strike Team Raktorak takes a central position, ready to punch a hole in the battlefield. For now, they keep their heads down and prepare for the advance. The closer the enemy can get, the better.

Round 1 - White Banner Turn

The monks begin their advance, throwing smoke. One is not prepared for the Suryat's visor, and is promptly incinerated by a barrage of rockets.

The other monks successfully smoke off the other 2 boxes. They have started their approach, but the Suryat's multispectral visor will ensure nothing comes for free.

The primary White Banner team advances. The Ye Mao attempts to extract the supplies, but is unsuccessful.

Knowing the Suryat presents the largest problem, Lei Gong breaks from the team and advances. His Albedo technology keeps the Suryat from being able to draw a line on him.

A Ye Mao climbs the stairs and attempts to assail the Suryat with a missile launcher from inside a dwelling. The Suryat is well prepared, obliterating the Ye Mao and the building beyond.

Lei Gong resumes his offensive and is able to reach the Suryat's rooftop position. His approach is noted by the team, and the Kaitok and Kornak move to gain line to the rooftop. The Dartok executes a Spotlight hacking program to further assist.

Realizing Albedo won't be enough, Lei Gong attempts to take cover. He takes fire from the Kaitok and Kornak, but is able to wound the Suryat before finally succumbing to his wounds.

Noting the Kaitok is now out of cover, a Ye Mao proceed through the building with his AP Spitfire. He is able to wound but not finish the Kaitok before the Morats begin their counter offensive.

Round 1 - Morat Aggression Force Turn

Under this order from Kornak, the Kaitok leaves the fireteam to engage the Ye Mao. He rips into the opposition with chain rifles, handily shredding the enemy. He takes a hit from the spitfire in the process and goes down. He is incapacitated, but it is not a fatal wound.

The Suryat sees a camouflaged combatant at the far side of the battlefield. His attempt to discover it prompts the enemy to reveal - the Long Ya launches a flammenspeer. The Suryat fires what should be an easy hit, but the Long Ya is well calibrated, and is able to kill the already wounded Suryat.

Command Team Gazarot advances up the left side. The Dartok fires his pitcher, landing 2 repeaters into the structures separating the forces. He initiates a Trinity program against the Ye Mao killer hacker, who attempts the same protocol in response. The Ye Mao falls, twitching. He will not have another chance at the supply box. Bixie is firmly in the repeater network.

Treitak Thayat rushes to the Kaitok and applies her medical training. The Kaitok rises to continue the fight with his original fireteam.

As the fireteam falls back to prepare for the next White Banner assault, the Dartok initiates Spotlight programs against the Observance nun. The Target has been designated - all to the EI's plan.

The fireteam takes their position as the Gaki runs into the building to guard the approach and protect the Dartok. It was an intensive operation that took all of Kornak's attention - Sweep Team Anyat would have to wait to begin their approach.

Strike Team Raktorak moves to comply, taking position in and around a nearby garage with the Security Detachment provided by the Shasvastii.

The Ikadron advances to improve repeater coverage. It comes upon an unexpected monk, who it is able to dispatch with a pistol shot.

After 1 round, no supply boxes have been opened. The Morat forces are well entrenched and confident in their ability to extract at their next opportunity.

Round 2 - White Banner Turn

With the Ye Mao and Lei Gong gone, Bixie is the White Banner's only hope at extraction. A monk sweeps the buildings to eliminate the Dartok's repeaters so she could move unhindered.

Seeing their front line thinning, the Zhanshi team begins to advance and reinforce.

Bixie moves through the building to draw a line on the Kaitok. He lets his chain rifles roar, scoring a wound. He is able to weather the shots from her multirifle and wins the exchange. She retreats to the far side of the building, a trail of blood marking her path.

Another Long Ya emerges from its camoflauge and tries to succeed wear Bixie could not. The Kaitok uses his heavy pistol to dispatch it.

Running short on options, a SpecOp Zhanshi approaches the opposite side through a building.

Things look dire for the White Banner as the Morats begin their next advance.

Round 2 - Morat Aggression Force Turn

Treitak Anyat deploys smoke. The Yaogat stands obscured and activates his Multispectral Visor to draw a clean line to the Zhanshi. It is an unexpectedly difficult exchange due to the tight quarters and the Zhanshi's dodges, but after 3 barrages, the Zhanshi falls.

The Rindak advances under another cloud of smoke to extract the supplies and move to a safe position.

Objective in hand, Kornak demands his forces press the assault.

A Gaki scales the building Bixie has been striking from. She is able to dodge to the ground, which exposes her to fire from the garage. The Raktorak makes short work of her.

The Raktorak continues to advance, raining fire into the Long Ya that had killed the Suryat.

With all visible threats neutralized, the Morats protect the supply box and prepare for a counter punch that would note come.

Round 3 - White Banner in Retreat!

After the Strike and Sweep teams took the field, the White Banner lines broke as they flee the battlefield. Kornak smirks, although he would have preferred to pilfer the remaining supplies from right under their noses.

All the same, the Morats have won the day. Their losses were minimal, a single Suryat. These supplies will come in handy for their next operation.

6-0 Victory for Morat Aggression Force, 264 Victory Points Remaining

  • 2 Points for Secured Supply Box
  • 1 Point for Securing More Supply Boxes
  • 1 Point for Denying the Enemy a Supply Box
  • 1 Point for Designating the Target (Classified)
  • 1 Point for Securing the Target

Treitak Thayat

Treitak Thayat's medical training paid off, allowing her to stabilize the Kaitok which secured the left flank of the battlefield.

After the enemy's retreat, Thayat was in position to secure the High Value Target. The Aggression Force is well served by the operative.
